Yvoire is a small medieval village dating back to the early 14th century. Yvoire is located next to Lac Leman, (Geneva) and is often regarded as one of the prettiest villages in France and referred to as the Gem of the Lake.
The village centre is surrounded by ramparts and accessed via its ancient gates and even boasts its very own castle.
Yvoire has some fabulous shops and restaurants as well as its splendid garden of the 5 senses.
On the villages lake front you can take boat tours and a passenger ferry across the lake to Nyon in Switzerland. There are also water sports on offer.
A little distance along the shore of Lac Leman from Yvoire is the small village of Excenevex,with its large sandy beach covering 10 hectares.
During the summer this beach is a paradise for children. With supervised bathing, play areas, volleyball pitch, mini golf, peddle boats, playgrounds and water sports available in abundance. Along with all the other things you would expect to find at the beach.
The village and beach have a selection of restaurants, tourist shops and boat excursions on the lake.
